Nearly October!!!!

This is how I've been feeling lately lol. So crazy! (picture taken near Southwark Cathedral in London)

This is madness! September is nearly complete, and October is just around the corner. October has to be, hands down, my favourite month. The leaves change colours (if you live anywhere but here in Texas), the pumpkins come out in bright oranges, Halloween candies and trick-or-treaters! How can you not love this month? Oh, yeah! And...my boyfriend will be here on the 10th!!

It's been a couple weeks since my last entry, but school has been keeping me underwater. I study nearly every day, and I don't go out unless it's to school. In fact, this next week will be worse! I have an exam on Monday and a major paper due Thursday. The paper is for my Literary Theory class and is about who decides meaning: the author, the reader, or society. I sent a rough outline to my professor on Thursday, but he still hasn't gotten back to me. Nervewracking!! The exam is on Beowulf and the Canterbury Tales, neither of which I'm worried about. It's the saints lives characteristics and hero tale elements I really need to work on. There's about 20 of each! lol

But it'll be so much better on the 10th! I left him back in London in June, and it's been so hard to be over 4000 miles away from him. But 2 weeks from today!!! yay!!

He's already been planning what to do while here! On Halloween he wants to go to this masquerade event. I'm not sure where it is, or I'd post the link or flyer for it. It does sound like a lot of fun, but masquerade outfits aren't cheap! lol Especially for us curvier girls! I may end up having to try to make this dress, if I can find the time.

I'm also hard at work making more pieces for an Etsy shop. I think I want to have at least 20 before I set up shop, just to have a nice selection to start with. It's been slow-go but Monday is my only mid-term and after next week, even internship won't be as hectic. So I think I'll have more "free" time soon. I'm super excited!!!

  1. No wonder you're feeling frazzled. Luckily, this is my last semester of college (yaaay!) so I'm only taking 6 hours.

For the record, I DO NOT enjoy old English literature. I'm a modern girl, myself. So studying for Canterbury Tales and Beowulf sounds like TORTURE to me.

Literary theory sounds like fun! I'm one of those "everything-is-subjective" people, so I would say that the Reader decides the meaning.
Like in art, who decides content? the artist, the viewer, or a critic? I'll go with all of the above really...

Geez Louise, my BF went to Yellowstone with his family for 2 weeks and I was mopey/crazy the entire time. So YAAY that your London boy is coming to see you! And Yay for curvy girls!

    :-D
