A Week Ago Today...and other funny excuses

Ok. I said I'd put up the recipe. I was going to even include pictures. That would've been fine and dandy had I not made cajun pomegranate cupcakes instead! Our oven, I'm not sure what's up with it!! I can set it even 5 degrees below the recommended temperature and keep a close eye on it, but I still only get a 30 second time frame before everything is burnt to a crisp. *sigh* Hopefully soon I'll get that recipe up.

Ok. Now for the week ago today. This isn't a grand story and I'm not that great at telling it. A week ago today I took my boyfriend out to dinner for his birthday, and it happened to be one of the first Thursdays I did not mind. While we were gabbing away (which means I was gabbing) over chips and queso, he asked to see my rose ring.

You see, many months ago, he had bought me a large rose ring and had me wear it on my left hand. Now he took it away and put it into his pocket. I started to protest until he brought out a small black box and opened it and then set it in front of me. I picked up the box with the shakiest of hands and looked up at him and back down at it. I didn't pull the ring out myself but made him put it on me; this is partly because I was afraid the ring would fall and would be lost. I sparkled all the way home.

So I will be a Mrs. on May 22nd. I know that sounds really soon, but once we apply for the fiancee visa, we get a very small time frame to get married. So that is our date. May 22nd.
